Simple Stamping with the SIP technique and Happiest Day

Stamps, Ink & Paper (SIP) is a wonderful technique for people who are new to card making and stamping in general.  You can make both beautiful and fun cards with just stamps, ink and paper.  It is also a fantastic technique to use when you are traveling on vacation but still want to scratch that stamping itch.  Therefore Tammy and I chose SIP to be the focus today on our Teach it Tuesday with Tammy and Jennie.

Below are the list of supplies I used for my card as well as a video to see just how easy this type of card is to make.  Once  you have watched my video please head over to Tammy's blog or YouTube channel to watch her create her SIP card as well.  It is a beautiful card!

Details:

  • Thick White card stock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
  • Happiest Day stamp set
  • Ink pad colors: Coastal Cabana, Pool Party, Fresh Freesia and Tuexedo Black Memento

Mystery Stamping - Happiest Day Stamp Set

Craft along with me as we do Mystery Stamping.  IF you don't want to know what card we are making don't scroll past the video. 😀 I just received the stamp set Happiest Days from my Free Shipping day order so I decided to use this stamp set for the card.  When you scroll to the bottom you will notice that I created a sample card with the Trucking Along stamp set as well.  This card is fun and easier to make than it looks. Trust me. This card was CASEd from Jessica at Ink It Up with Jessica.😀  Here are the card supplies you need if you want to make this card with me.

Supplies:

Card stock: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
White card stock: 5 1/4" X 4" AND 2 3/4" x 4"
Patterned Paper: 2 3/4" x 4"
Ink: Coordinates with card stock and paper
Stamp set:  Image needs to fit on the 2 3/4" x 4" white card stock
Embellishments: Anything you want

Follow along with the video, by the way you can fast forward through the first couple of minutes as I greet those joining us.  Have fun! Let me know in the comments what you think as well as what stamp set and color(s) you used.

Here is the one I made along with the video using the Happiest Days stamp set as well as the sample using Trucking Along.

Seaside Wishes Bundle

Seaside Wishes bundle was what Tammy and I chose to feature on our Teach it Tuesday with Tammy & Jennie yesterday.  I had so much fun playing with this bundle.  I knew when I sat down that I didn't want to use the traditional beachy colors, i.e. beiges and blues.  I wanted to get creative and spread my wings a bit.  So I picked out Summer Splash, Peach Pie and Petunia Pop (all 24-26 In Colors) and when I shared it with my friends Patty and Tammy, Patty pointed out that the colors were very close to some of the color combos on the Stampin' Up! color coach they provide us each year.  Sure enough when I looked at the color coach I realized I had switched out the Azure Afternoon for Summer Splash.  The Color Coach is a great spring board for color ideas if you are stuck as to what you want to use when creating.  I have created a link to the Stampin' Up! Color Coach below. Check it out!

When I created the card I used the technique of creating your own patterned paper by stamping images in my three different colors; starting with the largest image first and then filling in the spots.  You can watch me create the "DSP" for my card in the video below.

To make the card here are the necessary measurements as well as tools, colors and other important information.

Details

  • Card base: Peach Pie 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
  • Layer #1: 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"  DSP created with stamps & ink on Basic White card stock
  • Layer #2: 2"x 5 3/8" Summer Splash embossed with the Seaside Wishes embossing folder
  • Layer #3: Peach Pie Sand Dollars (2) cut using the hybrid die/embossing folder
  • Inks: Peach Pie, Summer Splash, Petunia Pop, Stampin' Blends: Peach Pie & Summer Splash
  • Embellishment: Wink of Stella & 24-26 In Color Shimmer Gems

Quick and Easy Handmade Card Sets

Looking for a quick and easy way to make a set of four cards?  Here is a technique that is one of the easiest ways to make those cards.  It is called the Stack, Cut and Shuffle and I CASEd* this from Cindy of CindyLeeBeeDesigns. All you need is 4 pieces of double sided pattern paper (DSP in Stampin' Up! vocabulary 😀) and some card stock.  Check out the measurements and list of supplies I used for these cards.  You can watch the video to see how I put them together.  Trust me these are easy to put together, it took me under 30 minutes for 4 cards, and that time includes me looking for something I misplaced!

* Copy And Share Everything

Details

  • Card base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (score at 4 1/4") for standard card or 4 1/4" x 11" (score at 5 1/2") for vertical opening card.
  • Layer #1: White card stock for the mat 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Designer Series Paper Layer:  Four (4) coordinating pieces  5" x 3 3/4" (Cut according to diagram below).
  • Card stock for sentiments:  I used 2 3/8" circle punch and various dies from Nested Essentials Dies.
  • Inks: Coordinates with DSP
  • Stamps: I used Simply Said & So Sincere
  • Embellishments: Coordinates with Inks

Here is the video showing you how to create cards using this technique.  Hope you have fun creating!

Thoughtful Journey Memories and More Card Class Sneak Peek!

Welcome to the sneak peek for my upcoming virtual card class using the Thoughtful Memories and More card pack from Stampin' Up!®

Stampin' Up! has some wonderful products that are designed to be used with their photo pocket scrapbooking pages but they are also awesome for creating quick and easy handcrafted cards.  They are called Memories and More Card Packs.  There are two that are offered right now but I would be willing to guess that there will be a set in the upcoming September - December Mini Catalog starting September 4th of this year (less than 2 months from now)!

The card pack I am focusing on this time is the Thoughtful Journey Memories and More.  Its beautiful watercolor images and color combinations I would have never imagined putting together are just two reasons I fell in love with the Thoughtful Journey collection.

On August 17, 2024 I will be hosting a virtual card making event using this card pack. During yesterday's Fun Friday live on my Facebook business page I gave a sneak peek to some of the 10 cards we will be making.  Check out the video to see how quick and easy these cards are to make.  If you are interested you can click on my Classes & Events tab to find more information and a link to register.  Unfortunately at this time the class is only available to US Residents.

To see a few of the cards we will be making you can check out the video. I hope you enjoy it!

Spotlight on Nature Two Ways

Tulips! One of my most favorite flowers so I couldn't pass up this beautiful stamp
set, Spotlight on Nature.  I absolutely love the lines and details in the image. It is perfect for coloring.  I had so much fun this week playing with the stamps, dies and different color schemes.  Here are the two that I created in my Fun Friday live yesterday.

These cards make wonderful thank you and friendship cards.  If you would like to reproduce or use my cards as a springboard for your own creations I have listed all the measurements for the cards below along with the video.  Have fun!

Card #1 - Spotlight on Nature in Blues

- Card Base: Blueberry Bushel - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"  (scored at 4 1/4"
- Layer #1: Basic White - 5 1/4" x 4"

- Embellishments: Wink of Stella & Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Bonus Days, Online Exclusive Releases, Glass Mats! Oh My!

I know I said I would only be posting on my blog twice a week unless there was something big happening, well there is a LOT of big things happening this month!  Let me share with you all the fun promotions from Stampin’ Up!® that are kicking off today!

Bonus Days

First Stampin' Up! is holding Bonus Days from July 3rd to 31st.  What are Bonus
Days you ask?   When you place your order of $50 or more (before taxes and shipping) you will receive coupon codes for every $50 you spend.  Example:  You purchase $75 in product you will receive a coupon code for $5 off your purchase in August.  If you purchase $150 in product you will receive 3 coupon codes at $5 each that you can use during the month of August. The codes will be sent to you separately via email. So save them to use starting August 1st (I will remind you when we get closer 😇).

Online Exclusives

Next announcement is that the July release of Online Exclusives go live today!  They have some great seasonal & holiday themed product including Halloween. Just pop on over to the Online Exclusives section of my online store.  Something to keep in mind with Online Exclusives, we don't know if they will be restocked or if they will be discontinued when they sell out; there are some that have been around since the first release of online exclusives and some that retired after they sold out.  So if you see something you really like I just grabbing it.

Glass Mat Now Available

The Stampin’ Glass Mat Studio was offered as a part of the demonstrator sign up promotion during Sale-a-Bration last January & February. It was so popular that they are now offering it to customers for purchase starting July 3rd. Everyone who has it raves about how awesome and versatile the mat is.  If I already didn’t have a glass mat this would have been at the top of my list.

The heavy-duty glass mat comes printed with a ruler and grid lines for easy measuring.  The safety-tempered glass has a heat and scratch resistant surface that wipes clean with the included cloth and water - no chemicals needed.  The reusable cloth also cleans ink off your stamps!  The nonslip, heat resistant, waterproof silicone mat features four palette squares can be used for mixing custom ink colors or for holding our small ink spots in place while crafting.  Each component can be used separately or you can use all three items together for afunctional and great looking multipurpose paper crafting studio.

If you are interested, I would order fast as I have a feeling they won't last!  The best part is that by ordering this glass mat you earn a $5 Bonus Day coupon code!  You can find it here in the Online Exclusives section of my online store.

Whew!  I think that is all that I have to share for now but be on the look out because I will be sharing more in the next week or so about some upcoming online online classes!
