During yesterday's Teach it Tuesday I shared with you one of my all time favorite fun folds. I learned it from Patty Bennett little over a year ago, you can watch her video here. I have used it with so many different cards including Father's Day cards, Birthday cards, etc. Today I combined it with Stampin' Up!'s Winter Meadows pattern paper to make some simple but pretty Christmas cards.
Measurements for the card are below and a list of supplies used for both cards featured in the video are listed farther down, after the video.
Measurements:
Card base: 5 1/2" x 7 1/2" (scored at 3 1/4" & 6 1/2")
Front panels: Pattern paper 3" x 5 1/4" & 3/4" x 5 1/4"
Interior panels: Card stock mat 3" x 5 1/4" & White card stock 2 3/4" x 5"
Decorative strip for interior: 1/2" x 6"
Decorative die cuts for front: Between 1 1/2" to 3" wide
If you want to follow along and make this card with me here is the video.
Here is a close up picture of the card I had made in advance and shared with you on the video.
Last week I shared with you some cards I created with the Happy Hibiscus bundle. While making those I was curious as to what it would look like if I embossed the two tone paper with the the hibiscus embossing folder and then sanded it down to expose the white core. Wowzer I was in love and will definitely be doing this more frequently. Below is the card I made using that sanding technique on the two tone paper. Details of what paper was used and the measurements are below. I hope this inspires you to try out the two tone paper with the Happy Hibiscus embossing folder (or any embossing folder).
Details:
Card base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Thick White card stock
Layer #1: Crushed Curry Two-Tone paper (found in the Autumn to Remember Scrapbooking Workshop Kit) embossed with the Happy Hibiscus embossing folder
Layer #2: Night of Navy circles(2 3/4" & 2 1/4") using Spotlight of Nature Dies
The stamped images are using Versa Mark and white embossing powder. The smaller circle is popped up using foam adhesive sheets. The embellishments are from the Pecan Pie & Clear Ribboned adhesive backed dots. I sanded the paper with a sanding block I found on Amazon. Here is the link, sanding block.
Yesterday's Teach it Tuesday was a sketch challenge. What sketch you may ask? Tammy and I used sketch #8 from the 2024-2025 annual catalog (page 22). I have a pictures of both the sketch and my card inspired by the sketch. I used the beautiful stamp set Sparkling Snowflakes in lovely blue hues (my favorite). I hope you enjoy the card and watching the video to see how I created this card.

When I ordered the new Happy Hibiscus bundle from Stampin' Up!'s November Online Exclusives release I didn't expect to fall in love with it so quickly! This is a definite keeper. I received it on Thursday and by Friday afternoon I had at least 4 cards made with it! I think it took me all of about 2 - 3 hours to have those cards made, this included looking for a sketch on Pinterest! Three of the cards are the same layout, a Mojo sketch I found on Pinterest, but different color combinations. I used what is often referred to as color buddies or in the past Stampin' Up! would call them dynamic duos. They are two colors from the same color family one being darker than the other. They are perfect for when you are two step stamping which is the technique used with the Happy Hibiscus.
Here are the measurement details for the card. I will only list measurements so that you can choose any color you want. I will also share each card individually with their color combinations listed below them. Have fun creating, P.S. leave a comment letting me know which color duo you like the best. :)
