Coordinating Card with Four Corner Stamping Technique

Teach it Tuesday this week focused on the fun technique called Four Corners.  This technique is simpler than it looks and sounds.  I learned this technique from Patty Bennett and it has become one of my go to techniques when I want to quickly create a set of coordinating cards.  While preparing for this live I practiced with one color combo (Flirty Flamingo and Garden Green) and then created with another color combo on the live (Berry Burst and Shy Shamrock).  Below you will find pictures of both.  I would love for you to share with me in the comments which is your favorite color combo.

The first step in creating this card is to stamp the images before cutting the card fronts.  A tip I learned from Patty was to cut the card stock before stamping to ensure your stamped images are centered.  There are a couple of sizes you can start with it just depends on if you want to place the card front directly onto the card base or if you choose to layer it with another piece of card stock under the card front.  This is the route I usually go because I love how the additional card stock can make the card front "pop".

Here are the key measurements you need to know before stamping your card front.

Card front (no layer)

Card stock:  10 1/2" x 8"
After stamped cut into 4 pieces that measure 5 1/4" x 4"

Card front (with layer)

Card stock: 10" x 7 1/2"
After stamped cut into 4 pieces that measure 3 3/4" x 5"

Card #1 - Flirty Flamingo & Garden Green

Card base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (scored at 4 1/4")
Layer #1:  5 1/4" x 4"
Card front: 5" x 3 3/4"

Card #2 - Berry Burst & Shy Shamrock

Card base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (scored at 4 1/4")
Layer #1: 5 1/4" x 4"
Card front: 5" x 3 3/4"

Brightest Birthday & Birthday Bash - Stampin' Up! Kits

O.M.GEEEEE This has got to be one of the best birthday card kits put out by Stampin' Up!  I absolutely love it! Which kit you may be asking?  The Brightest Birthday card kit (#165004) and the craft kit Birthday Bash (#165010) are coordinating kits that make birthday cards, gift bags and gift card holders.  Today I used both of those kits during my Fun Friday Facebook live.  You can catch the video below.  I love the the way the two kits coordinate giving you a complete set of gift bag, gift card holder and birthday card for any upcoming event.

The Brightest Birthday card kit makes 9 cards (3 each of 3 designs); an ice cream cone, birthday candles and gift with balloons.  The holographic accents give the cards a fun touch.  The colors that coordinate with this kit are Azure Afternoon, Berry Burst, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Lemon-Lime Twist, & Pool Party.

The Birthday Bash crafting kit gives you the opportunity to create coordinating gift bags and gift card holders.  Four gift bags (2 each of 2 designs) and four gift card holders (2 each of 2 designs). The featured colors are also Azure Afternoon, Berry Burst, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Lemon-Lime Twist, and Pool Party.  This kit also provides sentiments in three different languages; English, French and German.

To see the amazing items included in the kits as well as how simple it is to put the cards, bags and gift card holders together you can watch the video of my Facebook live.  Check back because over the next couple of weeks I will be sharing alternate cards using items from the kits and other Stampin' Up! product.

Happy New Year! Welcome to January 2025!  Not only am I excited to see what 2025 has instore but I am excited for the new Stampin' Up! Yesterday, during our Teach it Tuesday, Tammy and I gave you a sneak peek at two new bundles.  The bundle I shared was the Memorable Blooms.  This beautiful bundle has amazing floral stamps, sentiments and some fabulous dies.  To be honest the dies are what caught my attention first. There is an absolutely amazing octagon shape die and floral outline in this set.  Over the next week or so I will be sharing some of the cards I made with this bundle.  Today I used the octagon die to create a peek a boo effect on the card front.
