Coordinating Card with Four Corner Stamping Technique

Teach it Tuesday this week focused on the fun technique called Four Corners.  This technique is simpler than it looks and sounds.  I learned this technique from Patty Bennett and it has become one of my go to techniques when I want to quickly create a set of coordinating cards.  While preparing for this live I practiced with one color combo (Flirty Flamingo and Garden Green) and then created with another color combo on the live (Berry Burst and Shy Shamrock).  Below you will find pictures of both.  I would love for you to share with me in the comments which is your favorite color combo.

The first step in creating this card is to stamp the images before cutting the card fronts.  A tip I learned from Patty was to cut the card stock before stamping to ensure your stamped images are centered.  There are a couple of sizes you can start with it just depends on if you want to place the card front directly onto the card base or if you choose to layer it with another piece of card stock under the card front.  This is the route I usually go because I love how the additional card stock can make the card front "pop".

Here are the key measurements you need to know before stamping your card front.

Card front (no layer)

Card stock:  10 1/2" x 8"
After stamped cut into 4 pieces that measure 5 1/4" x 4"

Card front (with layer)

Card stock: 10" x 7 1/2"
After stamped cut into 4 pieces that measure 3 3/4" x 5"

Card #1 - Flirty Flamingo & Garden Green

Card base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (scored at 4 1/4")
Layer #1:  5 1/4" x 4"
Card front: 5" x 3 3/4"

Card #2 - Berry Burst & Shy Shamrock

Card base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (scored at 4 1/4")
Layer #1: 5 1/4" x 4"
Card front: 5" x 3 3/4"

For more tips on how create cards using this stamping technique watch my video below. You won't believe how simple it is.
