Teach it Tuesday - Scrapbooking with Everyday You & Me

Welcome to my first scrapbooking blog post.  Scrapbooking is a great way to capture memories of wonderful events and life experiences.  I scrapbooked many years ago. However I have to admit that the last time I completed a scrapbook was in 2010 when I used a digital program to capture the memories of my family's trip to Disney World and a couple of other fun spots in the Orlando area.  I haven't scrapbooked since and I have a couple of unfinished books in my closet.  I look forward to going through my pictures and start scrapbooking them again, just need to find the time to add another craft! LOL

When Stampin' Up! came out with their new scrapbooking kits my friends/fellow SU Demonstrators, Patty & Tammy, and I decided it might be fun to do a series show casing some of the new Stampin' Up! scrapbooking kits.  So this month, as well as February and March we will be featuring one kit during Teach it Tuesday as the Scrapbook Trio! The scrapbooks have 3 2-page layouts so we each decided to take a layout to share.  Patty will be working with layout #1, Tammy #2 and I will be using layout #3.  Below you will find links to both Tammy and Patty's blogs so that you can see what they created.  Make sure you check them out because they have some excellent tips and tricks for creating the scrapbook pages.

Everyday You & Me is the kit we chose for this month.  This is such a beautiful kit featuring some of my favorite colors, Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock. It has some great earthy colors like Gray Granite and Wild Wheat too and is perfect for those outdoorsy memories.

The kits make it so easy for anyone to scrapbook; the beginner to the expert.  If you are a beginner, or returning like me after many years, the kits have layouts for you to follow.  If you are an expert you can set those aside and just create till your heart's content.  I have found that the layouts are great and very easy to adjust if you don't have the exact sizes of photos the recommend or have designated for the page you are creating.

To see my tips and tricks to using the basic layout yet tweaking it to work with the photos I had you can watch my video.

For more inspiration on layouts #1 and #2 check out my friends' and partners' blogs below.
